igh-Resolution Ultrasound and Magnetic Resonance Imaging o Document Tissue Repair After Prolotherapy: A Report of 3 ases
نویسنده
چکیده
High-resolution ultrasound imaging of musculoskeletal tisue is increasing in popularity because of patient tolerability, ow cost, ability to visualize tissue in real-time motion, and uperior resolution of highly organized tissue such as a tendon. rolotherapy, defined as the injection of growth factors or rowth factor production stimulants to grow normal cells or issue, has been a controversial procedure for decades; it is urrently gaining in popularity among physiatrists and other usculoskeletal physicians. This report describes imaging of endons, ligaments, and medial meniscus disease (from trauma r degeneration). Although these tissues have been poorly esponsive to nonsurgical treatment, it is proposed that tissue rowth and repair after prolotherapy in these structures can be ocumented with ultrasound and confirmed with magnetic resnance imaging. Directions for future research application are iscussed.

متن کاملAn investigation into the effect of magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) echo time spacing and number of echoes on the sensitivity and dose resolution of PAGATUG polymer-gel dosimeter
Background: There are various methods to read out responses of a polymer-gel dosimeter, among which the Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) technique is the most common one. Optimizing imaging protocols can have significant effect on the sensitivity and the dose resolution of polymer gel dosimeters. This study has investigated the effects of the number of echoes (NOE) and the echo time spacing (ES...
متن کاملبررسی شدت نسبی سیگنال تصاویر Magnetic Resonance در بافت رترودیسکال و عضله پتریگوئید خارجی و رابطه آن با یافتههای Magnetic Resonance Imaging
Background and Aims: Disc displacement is the most common temporomandibular joint disorder and magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) is the gold standard in its diagnosis. This disorder can lead to changes in signal intensity of magnetic resonance (MR). The purpose of this study was evaluation of correlation between relative signal intensity of MR images of retrodiscal tissue, superior and inferior ...
متن کاملPET and MRI-guided focused ultrasound surgery for hypoxic-tissue ablation combined with radiotherapy in solid tumors
Background: The rationale was to develop an ablation approach to destroy regions of tumor resistant to radiation and thus reduce the time required for whole tumor ablation, while improving overall tumor control after radiotherapy. Materials and Methods: The system is composed of a micro positron emission tomography (mPET), 7T magnetic resonance imaging (MRI), and a customized MRI-compatible foc...
متن کاملDynamic Contrast Magnetic Resonance Imaging (DCE-MRI) and Diffusion Weighted MR Imaging (DWI) for Differentiation between Benign and Malignant Salivary Gland Tumors
Background: Salivary gland tumors form nearly 3% of head and neck tumors. Due to their large histological variety and vicinity to facial nerves, pre-operative diagnosis and differentiation of benign and malignant parotid tumors are a major challenge for radiologists. Objective: The majority of these tumors are benign; however, sometimes they tend to transform into a malignant form. Functional M...
